An Historical Account Of The Village And Manor Of Hale From The 11th To The 20th Century.
Peter Hattons "History Of Hale" has had three runs of being revised and printed, the first edition of the book was published in 1968, it was later revised and printed in 1978, followed by the current edition which was revised and printed again in 1991.
The History Of Hale is renowned for it's extensive look at the manor of Hale and the Ireland Blackburnes in all three editions, it also covers the history of all of the historical buildings in the village, from St Mary's Church, The William Part School , The Childe Of Hale's Cottage to Hale Head Lighthouse.
Peter's publications are well known for their indepth look at the Ireland Blackburnes life, from Old Hutte to moving into their new home - Hale Hall.
